Role Summary:

The Lead Security Specialist will engage in a diverse range of responsibilities within the Special Access Programs (SAP) Security Team. Key duties include developing, reviewing, and enforcing security policies in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards. This role will provide essential oversight and guidance on security protocols to facilitate successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing security protocols (NISPOM, DoDM series, ICD 705, and JSIG) related to classified operations, including personnel processing, media control, document/material management, security training, visitor management, and classified destruction.
  • Creating, preparing, and executing local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, and proprietary testing plans based on risk management principles.
  • Establishing a media control program in compliance with JSIG requirements.
  • Providing security oversight and management to subcontractors and subordinate units through contractual methods.
  • Setting up, obtaining accreditation for, and maintaining secure facilities in accordance with ICD-705.
  • Developing and supervising specialized procedures for transmitting classified and proprietary information.
  • Managing a visitor control program.
  • Conducting internal reviews and participating in government inspections.
  • Investigating security breaches and preparing reports detailing potential risks to programs.
  • Collaborating with the ISSO/ISSM to implement JSIG requirements.
  • This position may involve travel and occasional overtime as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Advanced degrees may substitute for experience.
  • Active and in-scope Secret security clearance is mandatory.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP access.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for escorting individuals across business locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in security roles supporting SAP and/or SCI programs.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, DoDM series, JSIG, and/or ICD 705.
  • Degree in Business Management, Security/Risk Management, Government Policy, Information Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in National Security is preferred.
  • Completion of relevant training and/or certification with DCSA and/or CDSE.
  • Top Secret clearance is desirable.
