POSITION SUMMARY
The Janitorial Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that Plymouth residents enjoy a clean and safe living environment across all facilities. This role encompasses a variety of essential cleaning and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
- Cleaning common restrooms, showers, and toilets.
- Maintaining cleanliness in hallways, stairwells, and communal areas.
- Vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
- Preparing vacant units for new tenants.
- Cleaning and waxing floors in the lobby.
- Washing windows and managing waste disposal.
- Changing light bulbs in shared spaces.
The responsibilities of this position are flexible, allowing for movement throughout the property portfolio. The individual may be reassigned based on operational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine janitorial and maintenance tasks to uphold a sanitary living and working environment, including individual units, offices, and exterior areas.
- Perform cleaning duties in common areas, such as vacuuming, mopping, and washing walls.
- Safely manage waste removal, including dumpster rotation.
- Monitor cleanliness and maintenance requirements throughout the facilities.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks, including cleaning vacated units.
- Execute floor maintenance tasks, including stripping, waxing, and buffing.
- Implement pest control measures as necessary.
- Support building maintenance staff and vendors as required.
- Help with inventory management of cleaning supplies.
- Respond to emergency situations as directed by the Facility Manager.
- Handle hazardous materials safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with the Facility Manager to address work orders.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Conduct pre-inspections on vacant units.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of two years in janitorial or maintenance roles, preferably in multifamily or hospitality settings.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Washington State Driver's License with a clean driving record. Certification in fall prevention training is preferred or must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe.
Skills and Abilities:

- Thorough understanding of cleaning agents and their proper usage.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with residents.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and payroll systems.

Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income or special needs groups, is highly valued.
