Job Summary

Puget Sound Educational Service District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Prevention and Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Student Support Services department, you will play a critical role in providing prevention and early intervention services to students in our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Prevention Programs: Design and implement comprehensive prevention programs to address problems associated with substance use, violence, and mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with school staff to identify high-risk students and refer them to school and community-based services.
  • Provide Individual and Group Counseling: Offer individual and group counseling services to students and families to support their mental health and well-being.
  • Facilitate School-Based Recovery Support Groups: Lead school-based recovery support groups to help students overcome substance use and other challenges.
  • Maintain Confidential Records: Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of program records and files.
  • Participate in Program Evaluation: Contribute to the evaluation of program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in Social Services, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience working in a youth-serving program or agency, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
