We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Design Specialist to join our team at Arup. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing civil engineering projects, including site development and transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply your knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals to design and develop site development and transportation projects
  • Use CAD software to create detailed designs and layouts for roads, railways, airports, data centers, industrial facilities, and parks/open space
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver sustainable outcomes and meet client needs
  • Perform data collection, research, and apply codes, specifications, and standards for design
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders and clients to develop designs that meet needs and concerns
  • Support the development of drawings, reports, calculation packages, and specifications
  • Perform pre-construction and construction-phase site visits

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering or a relevant engineering degree
  • Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Professional demeanor and good communication skills
  • Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment and work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to gain EIT/FE Certification within 1 year of graduation
  • Preference for transportation and infrastructure project work
  • Proficient with civil engineering design and analysis tools for roads, stormwater, and/or utility systems
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D CAD software and MicroStation
