About the Role

At McLaren Engineering Group, we are seeking an experienced Civil Division Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented engineering professional to lead and manage our civil division, driving business growth and success.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our civil division, including preparing proposals, staff management, project work, technical mentorship, manpower allocation, and team growth. This role reports to the Regional Vice President/Office Director and coordinates with the Technical Vice President.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Marketing: Responsible for business development and marketing of the civil division in the office.
  • Assists the Technical VP and Regional Director in developing new markets in the local region.
  • Assists the Technical VP and Regional Director in expanding existing markets in the local region.
  • Acts as market/division representative locally.
  • Reviews and develops all proposals for the civil division for projects managed by their office.
  • Pursuit lead and project manager on large-scale projects and contracts.
  • Attends local marketing events.
  • Resource & Technical Management: Manages staff in the civil division.
  • Supports PM's in maintaining project schedules and budgets and acts as project executive to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Responsible for the schedule of projects managed in their office.
  • Responsible for budgets of projects managed in their office.
  • Ensures QA/QC process occurs.
  • Reports resource needs to the Technical VP and coordinates with the Regional Director/Office Director as necessary.
  • Supports the Technical Director in implementing company standards.
  • Assists in staff development and career planning; conducts performance evaluations.
Financial & Accounting Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for project budgets.
  • Assists in Accounts Receivable (A/R) collections.
  • Reviews Electronic Invoicing (EI) for office-managed projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of twelve years' experience in engineering and management.
  • Professional Engineer registration and/or PMP Certification (preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical written and verbal communication skills; public speaking and presentation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a propensity for the development, mentorship, and guidance of potential leaders.
  • Experience as a technical leader of a team of engineers.
