About the Role

The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking a highly skilled Pipeline Safety Field Inspector to join our team in the Oversight and Safety Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting pipeline safety evaluations, incident and accident investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable natural gas and hazardous liquids pipeline safety rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pipeline safety evaluations and investigations to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Perform site visits to inspect pipeline operations and provide information on PHMSA and Railroad Commission regulations
  • Prepare and submit reports on inspections, investigations, and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with industry professionals to ensure safe operation standards and stay informed of new compliance regulations and industry practices
  • Travel extensively (50% or more) to complete inspections, investigations, and attend training sessions
Requirements
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or G.E.D.
  • Four years of relevant professional work experience
  • A valid Texas Driver's License
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM with occasional flexible hours, nights, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering/Petroleum/Corrosion Technology or a related field, plus two years of relevant professional work experience
