About the Role:
As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. You will work under the direction of the Health Services Manager and follow medical orders from physicians and mid-level providers. Your primary focus will be on providing holistic nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a correctional setting, following established protocols and standards of care.
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans to address these needs.
- Implement and evaluate patient care plans, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care to patients, including communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care, including documentation of medications, treatments, and test results.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and promote a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid State of Florida Registered Nurse License is required, as well as current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and ACLS card or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Security clearance is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field is preferred, as well as experience working in correctional settings or emergency departments. Familiarity with electronic health records and medical equipment is also beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a generous salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, prescription coverage, employee health clinic, employee fitness centers, employer-sponsored retirement plan or investment plan, deferred compensation plan, flexible spending account(s), employee assistance program, annual/sick leave or paid time off (PTO), and group life insurance.
