Job Title: Resident Technical Staff

Join the Seattle Symphony Orchestra as a Resident Technical Staff member and contribute to the success of our live events and productions.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical professional to join our team as a Resident Technical Staff member. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for providing technical stage support for a variety of events, including concerts, tours, recordings, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, program, and operate video and sound systems, projectors, live streaming, video cameras, shading and color, video switchers and playback, and communications systems for live events.
  • Coordinate with Technical Directors, Audio/Video Managers, and clients to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Support a variety of event requirements, including stage set-up and tear-down, and other technical tasks as needed.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with other stage crew, Technical Directors, Music Directors, orchestra personnel, administrative staff, clients, and guest artists.
Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of production AV experience for concert, theatrical systems, corporate, and broadcast preferred.
  • Knowledge of programming on a variety of large scale switchers, color and shading, and playback software.
  • Experience as a V1, projectionist, and video wall technician for live events.
  • Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and extended hours.
  • Valid Washington State Driver License at time of application.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
