This role involves working closely with design, manufacturing, and customer teams to develop, optimize, and maintain critical processes as a Special Process Engineer. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of welding, laser cutting, and other specialized manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight for special processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop and optimize processes to enhance quality and efficiency, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage process and operator qualifications and certifications, maintaining detailed control plans.
  • Design and implement process systems that meet regulatory and operational requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • Identify and procure essential equipment and materials, while troubleshooting issues related to special processes.

Processes Covered:

  • Welding – manual, machine, and resistance welding, with development of laser welding processes.
  • Laser beam machining and laser marking.
  • Hole making process development (conventional machining as a special process).
  • Metallurgical lab support, assisting lab technicians as needed.
  • Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), assisting Level 3 as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in special process engineering, with a strong background in welding and laser cutting.
  • Proficiency with Nadcap, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with effective communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits: The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid holidays, a 401K retirement plan, disability insurance, and more.
