Position Summary:

The Event Service Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and facilitating the preparation, execution, and dismantling of all designated event functions. This role is essential in ensuring that service standards are upheld and that guest satisfaction is prioritized.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Completion of college coursework in a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require flexible hours and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, with frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds. The ability to remain standing for the duration of the shift is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all event setups align with the Banquet Event Order.
  • Supervise the arrangement of catered functions, ensuring compliance with hotel standards.
  • Act as the primary contact between the Sales/Catering Manager and the event coordinator.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Assist in the creation of the Banquet Work Schedule and complete necessary reports.
  • Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of events, ensuring proper storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all function spaces and storage areas.
  • Ensure adherence to all state liquor laws and maintain knowledge of banquet menus and pricing.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings to review staffing and menu details.
  • Prepare accurate reports post-event and assist in the hiring and training of banquet staff.

General Requirements:

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for interacting with employees and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines is essential. A commitment to maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming is expected.
