About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Decking and Railing Outside Sales Associate to join our team at Master Halco. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our customer base in the decking and railing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site training with coworkers to provide value to customers.
  • Build long-lasting business relationships and sell products to customers.
  • Utilize our internal STEPS training program to create value for internal and external customers.
  • Become a STEPS program expert and lead Inside Sales teams using the program.
  • Ensure teammates are aware of all available sales tools and resources.
  • Facilitate sales of non-decking and railing products, such as fencing, and hand off to the appropriate salesperson when necessary.
Accountabilities
  • Lead the way and achieve sales and margin goals for decking, railing, and outdoor structures for designated branch locations.
  • Expand and diversify the customer base.
  • Launch, grow, and expand decking, railing, and outdoor structures product offerings to be a complete source for customers.
  • Work with managers to create and execute short- and long-term sales plans that are measurable and have a clear objective.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or work equivalent.
  • Excellent face-to-face sales, training, and presentation skills with both small and large groups.
  • Driven and results-oriented.
  • Ability to support sales teams in new product expansion to meet company targets.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Successful track record of selling into the building materials industry and home center/hardware stores preferred.
  • Decking, railing, outdoor structures, fencing, and/or building materials industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed.
  • Proficient with Internet software, sales/presentations software, Excel, and Word processing software.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory up to 75% of the time.
