Job Summary:

BMO U.S. is seeking a seasoned Senior Credit Specialist to join our National Industries Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our commercial banking operations and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Lead and execute business development plans to achieve or exceed business goals, focusing on strategic partnerships and revenue growth.
  • Client Service: Improve service levels, client satisfaction, and loyalty scores by identifying and providing recommendations for process improvement, ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
  • Strategic Input: Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor, leveraging industry expertise and market knowledge.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Credit Analysis: Develop the business case by identifying needs, analyzing potential options, and assessing expected return on investment, providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to develop consistent and appropriate customer presentations, craft detailed correspondence, presentations, and proposals, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Change Management: Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives, driving organizational change.
  • Credit Structures: Provide direction on the creation of comprehensive credit structures to meet the transactional needs of clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Client Information: Partner with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information, ensuring up-to-date knowledge.
  • Credit Decisions: Develop credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans, ensuring prudent risk management.
  • Negotiations: Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e-mail interaction with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Reporting: Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness, providing clear and concise reporting.
  • Risk Management: Minimize BMO U.S.'s risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Operational Programs: Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, ensuring strong partnerships.
  • Specialized Expertise: Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders, providing expert guidance.
  • Problem-Solving: Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to complex and non-routine problems, driving innovation.
  • Adaptability: Implement changes in response to shifting trends, ensuring agility in a rapidly changing environment.Qualifications:
    • Education: Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience: Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.

    Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $222,600.00 per year, paid on a salaried basis.
