The company's mission is to increase the recyclability of plastics from 10% to 90% by utilizing its expertise in understanding the chemical composition of waste plastic in collaboration with industry partners to create a new, innovative supply chain.

Job Overview

The Feedstock Sourcing Specialist is responsible for ensuring a steady and predictable supply of feedstock per specification and the associated supplier network. This role requires engaging with potential feedstock sources identified by a Target List, assessing their waste streams for compatibility with Cyclyx customer requirements. The specialist will work closely with internal teams to understand sourcing needs and priorities, provide exceptional service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with potential suppliers to build relationships and assess suitability
  • Provide feedback to enhance the effectiveness of the supplier target list
  • Offer insights on market trends and industry developments to inform decision-making
  • Assist in onboarding new sourcing agents and sharing expertise and best practices
Requirements

To be successful as a Feedstock Sourcing Specialist, you should have:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a sourcing agent, sales representative, or in customer service in the field preferred
  • Previous experience in the plastics industry is highly preferred
  • Understanding of basic sourcing fundamentals
  • Familiarity with navigating and utilizing various technical tools and equipment, such as customer relationship management (CRM) systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other relevant tools
  • Strong and effective negotiating skills that contribute to building customer relationships
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally at all levels in the organization

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on the location in Houston, TX.
