Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

The Procurement Specialist will play a vital role in the Procurement Department, working closely with senior purchasing staff to execute tactical and strategic procurement strategies. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze inventory levels and production system demands to inform procurement decisions.
  • Generate quotations and prepare purchase orders for the procurement of goods and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and high-quality products.
  • Analyze and verify specifications for requests from internal customers, identifying approved suppliers or sourcing new ones as needed.
  • Maintain quality control and safety objectives aligned with corporate policies and goals.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, obtain written acknowledgement from suppliers, and administer purchase orders through delivery and payment.
  • Resolve invoice, shipping, and non-conforming parts discrepancies.
  • Compile and maintain records of items purchased, including prices, deliveries, and inventories.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement environment, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or the Association for Operations Management (APICS) is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle and MRP reporting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.
