Job Overview: The successful candidate will maintain the overall health and well-being of rabbits, ensuring their living environment is clean and safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer feed, water, and treatments to animals, monitoring their condition and reporting any issues.
  • Maintain animal enclosures by scraping, chipping, and dusting them regularly.
  • Replace or rotate animal enclosures as needed.
  • Clean and disinfect all animal enclosures, including equipment and accessories.
  • Ensure facility systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Create accurate documentation, including maintenance records and animal treatment notes.
  • Support the rabbit breeding program.
  • Tattoo animals as necessary.
  • Conduct RODAC testing and cleaning procedures.
  • Manage supply inventory.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in Life Sciences is desirable.
  • AALAS certification and knowledge of USDA and AAALAC regulations are beneficial.
  • Strong communication and mathematical skills are essential.
  • Ability to multitask and lead others in a team environment.
  • At least one year of experience in animal care or a related field.
  • Capability to lift 300 pounds.
  • Knowledge of cGMP quality systems and manufacturing processes is an asset.

Salary Range: Estimated at $55,000 - $70,000 per year based on industry standards.
