Position Overview
This role represents the second tier of three levels of Assembler (Intermediate); involving diverse mechanical or electrical assembly tasks that are moderately intricate, necessitating adjustments, fittings, and alignments to standard tolerances. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings and specifications, inspecting and testing completed units. Assemble components and devices to meet production requirements with minimal oversight. Proficiency in reading and following written instructions and blueprints is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to integrate parts into higher-level assemblies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with operational procedures and maintain accurate records in line with our plant management system.
  • Demonstrate versatility in multiple areas and possess the capability to train others.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct checks using various gauges and fixtures to verify adherence to specifications.
  • Foster positive relationships and teamwork as outlined in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint.
  • Report any discrepancies in drawings or instructions to the Area Lead/Supervisor during assembly.
  • Utilize basic shop tools (drill press, sandblasting, grinders, saws, deburring, and hand tools) safely and proficiently.
  • Adapt and efficiently perform tasks across different work cells.
  • Execute all operations related to manufacturing, including Press Operation, Sizing, Notching, while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Meet quality objectives and enhance quality standards, including immediate rectification of any defective workmanship.
  • Assemble more complex assemblies and master all basic assemblies (part probes, DBA sensors, etc.).
  • Effectively train entry-level Assemblers.
  • Ensure high accuracy during assembly to deliver superior quality products.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Competencies for Success
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior assembly experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Relevant technical training.
  • Capacity to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Proven ability to utilize measuring devices and basic machine tools (e.g., drill press, grinders, sanders, saws, etc.).
