Job Summary:

As a Controls Engineer at American Trim, you will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing and facility operations. Your expertise will be essential in researching, developing, and implementing the latest technology to improve production processes and equipment. You will oversee the production of various types of equipment and systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations teams, tooling departments, and maintenance teams.
  • Troubleshoot problems with processes and hardware, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Develop and maintain new equipment component standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Work with programmable controllers, robots, and CNC equipment to optimize production processes.
  • Generate CAD drawings for facility layout, electrical schematics, mechanical fabrication design, and equipment design.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, providing technical support as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to increase quality, consistency, and output.
  • Specify, order, and follow up on equipment purchases, ensuring proper workmanship and adherence to American Trim's specifications.
  • Assist in the inspection of equipment for safety violations, hazards, and improvements.
  • Provide technical support on electrical controls, automation initiatives, and equipment improvements/upgrades.
  • Maintain equipment records and programs schedules, ensuring cost performance meets budget expectations.

Requirements:
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience with a manufacturing facility of high volume and automated equipment.
