  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of uncertainties that influence estimates throughout the project lifecycle, identifying assumptions and risks to formulate contingency plans.
  • Prepare overall estimates utilizing a range of estimates, incorporating optimistic and pessimistic targets for each task.
  • Continuously review and adjust estimates as new information emerges and project details become clearer.
  • Conduct life-cycle costing for various estimating components.
  • Implement Top-Down Conceptual Estimating techniques.
  • Utilize comparative techniques wherever feasible, drawing from previous experiences and usage statistics.
  • Apply parametric techniques when bottom-up estimates are impractical or comparative data is unavailable.
  • Normalize top-down estimates to account for project-specific factors such as escalation, currency fluctuations, and local market conditions.
  • Engage in Bottom-Up Measurement-Based Estimating.
  • Generate detailed estimates efficiently, based on Bills of Quantities and Activity-Based costs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant estimating experience, preferably in industrial and commercial projects.
  • Proven experience in leading and presenting estimate deliverables to clients.
  • Proficient in current technology, including Word, Excel, and estimating/database software.
  • Strong understanding of estimating processes, including quantity takeoff, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, markup structures, and estimate documentation.
  • Experience with industry-standard estimating software, such as Timberline or Heavy Bid.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel as required by project needs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to integrate estimating data into cost and schedule management processes.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles.
  • Capability to document, report, and communicate estimate information effectively to all project stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard scheduling and cost management tools.
