Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine

VCU Health - MCV Physicians is seeking a highly qualified Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine to lead our team of experts in the Department of Pediatrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Division's research, education, and clinical programs
  • Collaborate with departmental and institutional leaders to promote interdisciplinary research and education initiatives
  • Recruit and retain top talent in the field of pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support Divisional activities
Requirements:
  • MD/DO degree and board certification in Pediatric Pulmonology
  • Eligibility for VA medical license
  • Experience in leadership and management, with a track record of success in academic and clinical settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of respect and inclusivity
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in a related discipline
  • Track record of external funding for research initiatives
  • Administrative experience, with a strong understanding of academic and clinical operations
  • Experience successfully mentoring junior colleagues and trainees in all parts of the academic mission
