Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Art Educator to join our team at LIFELONG LEARNING ADMINISTRATION CO. As an Art Educator, you will be responsible for teaching engaging art classes to K-12 grade students, promoting a positive and creative learning environment, and collaborating with our educational administrators to plan and implement art programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of art appreciation instruction, including fundamentals of color, shape, hand technique, dimension, layout, and design.
  • Communicate instruction to students in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Prepare materials for instruction and ensure a well-organized and safe learning environment.
  • Be on time and prepared for class to start at the designated time.
  • Provide set-up/clean-up and other tasks as arranged in advance.
  • Work with educational administrators to plan classes and develop art programs.
  • Communicate regularly with educational staff and parents about student progress.
  • Participate in departmental resource and program enhancement.
  • Maintain currency in art and design techniques/methods.
  • Participate in school activities that facilitate student learning and achievement.
  • Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned or changed from time to time.
  • Adhere to attendance policies.
Requirements
  • Ability to convey ideas in the classroom with enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Exhibit a sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of K-12 students.
  • Ability to interact successfully with a broad student population and work with various learning styles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree preferred, or equivalent experience/mastery in the field.
  • Teaching credential or certification in Art a plus.
  • English Learner Authorization.
  • Strong teaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience arranging student art shows and exhibits.
Physical Requirements
  • Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination.
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
  • Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.
