We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Art Educator to join our team at LIFELONG LEARNING ADMINISTRATION CO. As an Art Educator, you will be responsible for teaching engaging art classes to K-12 grade students, promoting a positive and creative learning environment, and collaborating with our educational administrators to plan and implement art programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of art appreciation instruction, including fundamentals of color, shape, hand technique, dimension, layout, and design.
- Communicate instruction to students in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Prepare materials for instruction and ensure a well-organized and safe learning environment.
- Be on time and prepared for class to start at the designated time.
- Provide set-up and clean-up assistance, as needed.
- Work with educational administrators to plan classes and develop art programs.
- Communicate regularly with educational staff and parents about student progress.
- Participate in departmental resource and program enhancement.
- Maintain currency in art and design techniques and methods.
- Participate in school activities that facilitate student learning and achievement.
- Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned or changed from time to time.
- Adhere to attendance policies.
- Ability to convey ideas in the classroom with enthusiasm and creativity.
- Exhibit a sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of K-12 students.
- Ability to interact successfully with a broad student population and work with various learning styles.
- Bachelor of Arts Degree preferred, or equivalent experience/mastery in the field.
- Teaching credential or certification in Art a plus.
- English Learner Authorization.
- Strong teaching and interpersonal skills.
- Experience arranging student art shows and exhibits.
- Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination.
- Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
- Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
- Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.
- Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.
