Key Responsibilities:
  • Portfolio Oversight: Proactively manage and resolve a portfolio of specially serviced CMBS loans and other distressed debt assets, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing losses.
  • Debt Instrument Negotiation: Negotiate and structure complex debt instruments, overseeing transactions through the legal documentation phase to ensure compliance with governing loan documents and REMIC regulations.
  • Collateral Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis and understanding of collateral and loan positioning, value determination, and restructuring alternatives to inform resolution strategies.
  • Third-Party Engagement: Engage with and interact with third-party consultants, including attorneys, receivers, management/leasing companies, appraisers, and environmental engineers, to ensure effective collaboration and resolution.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Maintain thorough understanding of and compliance with governing loan documents, loan servicing agreements, REMIC regulations, investor reporting requirements, and state and federal laws governing foreclosures, receivership actions, and bankruptcies.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Present and recommend resolution strategies to company leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management.
  • Business Planning: Prepare and present quarterly business plans and cash flow projections to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, managing multiple priorities and initiatives to drive results.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in a related field such as Commercial Real Estate or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years' experience in the workout of non-performing commercial real estate loans or debt asset management.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of commercial real estate, fixed income, and general financial concepts, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and basic competency in Argus and CRE Market Data Providers.
  • Adaptability and Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams, driving projects forward efficiently and adapting to changing market conditions.
