Position Overview:

Securian Asset Management is in search of a Structured Credit Asset Analyst to bolster the expansion of our structured asset portfolios. This role is pivotal in assisting the structured assets team in meeting the investment goals of diverse portfolio strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision of both primary and secondary structured asset markets, including timely recommendations for new issues based on structural and underlying asset evaluations, considering relative value across structured assets and other investment avenues.
- Presenting secondary investment ideas grounded in relative value analysis.
- Executing trades for approved investment strategies.
- Continuous monitoring of existing holdings to adjust risk levels in accordance with current fundamental perspectives.
- Regular updates to investment sector theses, including positioning adjustments.
- Conducting internal rating assessments and evaluating underlying asset performance metrics against benchmarks, while maintaining asset analytics and modeling.

- Performing recurring sector-level analyses to identify pivotal shifts within sector coverage, articulated through fundamental outlooks and recommendations.
- Incorporating ESG elements into sector evaluations to highlight relevant options within the analyst's coverage.
- Engaging in projects aimed at enhancing the research process through innovative approaches and technology utilization.

- Providing cross-sector analytical support and participating in discussions on relative value.


Qualifications:

- A minimum of 5 years of proven success in investment research within a liability-driven or total return framework in a structured analyst capacity.
- Currently pursuing or holding a CFA and/or MBA.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present objective recommendations and defend analytical viewpoints.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities, with a deep understanding of structural nuances and modeling techniques.
- Capacity to distill and convey critical issues and assumptions effectively.
- A comprehensive understanding of financial markets and risk models, supported by a background in mathematics, economics, or statistics.
- A high degree of curiosity, meticulous attention to detail, and a robust commitment to teamwork.

- Proficiency in research tools such as Bloomberg, Intex, Excel, and Tableau.


Work Environment:

Securian Asset Management embraces a hybrid work culture, allowing associates to work both remotely and in-office. This position requires living within a commutable distance to facilitate collaboration in the office 2-3 days a week.


Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated base salary range for this role is $131,000 - $191,000, with potential variations based on job-related factors and individual qualifications. This position is also eligible for a performance-based incentive program.
