Fortify Technical Staffing is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer for a prominent engineering systems integration firm. This role involves engaging in automation and control system initiatives across various sectors, including Life Sciences, Water/Wastewater, Data Centers, Semiconductor, Building Automation, and Food and Beverage.

The position requires collaboration between remote work, corporate offices, and construction sites, particularly with one of the largest Themed Entertainment organizations globally.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Control Systems Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include the design, programming, and commissioning of control systems. This encompasses PLC/DCS programming, control panel design, instrumentation, and the implementation of critical motion control systems for life safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop control system software, focusing on PLC/DCS programming (predominantly hardware-oriented), HMI design, and SCADA configuration.
  • Design, develop, and implement control system logic software and hardware to fulfill process, machine, and integrated system specifications.
  • Create schematics that detail control system configurations and wiring, along with designing equipment panel layouts using AutoCAD software.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram programming.
  • Familiarity with control system software platforms (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric) and relevant programming environments such as RSLogix and Simatic Step 7/TIA Portal.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, power distribution, control panels, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and process control narratives, including NEC, UL, UML, SysML, and MATLAB.
  • Experience in implementing, testing, commissioning, and qualifying automation solutions.
  • Understanding of Ethernet-based control systems and safety systems.
