Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team at Princeton University. As a key member of our Office of Audit and Compliance, you will play a critical role in assessing and mitigating risks that impact our institution's objectives.

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for performing financial, operational, and compliance audits, as well as providing quality audit and advisory services to the University. You will work collaboratively with management and staff to examine and evaluate financial transactions, business processes, and IT general controls.

Key responsibilities include planning audits, designing audit programs, conducting interviews, and analyzing processes to identify opportunities for enhancing internal controls and process efficiency. You will also be responsible for evaluating IT general controls, performing audit tests, and documenting test results.

We are looking for a candidate with high professional and ethical standards, who possesses strong analytical and communication skills, and who is able to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan audits and design audit programs
  • Conduct interviews and analyze processes
  • Evaluate IT general controls and perform audit tests
  • Document test results and complete audit work papers
  • Prepare and present audit reports

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in internal audit or public or financial accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and assess risks
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business, finance, or related field
  • Experience in higher education or other not-for-profit institution
  • Experience with regulatory, compliance, and ethical matters
