Job Summary

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs to meet compliance standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure the company's adherence to all local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including hazardous materials management, emergency response plans, and workplace ergonomics.
  • Program Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to employees on various EHS topics, including safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of protective equipment.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Waste Management: Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work with management to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS performance.
