Deputy Director of Moores Cancer Center

We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the Deputy Director of the Moores Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the center and driving its mission to advance cancer research and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Cancer Center Director and Associate Directors to develop and implement the center's strategic vision and long-term plans.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the center's translational and clinical research activities, with a focus on advancing innovative treatments and therapies for cancer patients.
- Represent the Moores Cancer Center and UC San Diego in various national and international organizations, fostering partnerships and collaborations to advance cancer research and care.
- Recruit and mentor talented faculty members to join the center's research teams, with a focus on building a diverse and inclusive community of scholars.
- Develop and manage budgets and resources to support the center's research and clinical programs, with a focus on securing extramural funding and leveraging institutional and philanthropic support.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of leadership and research experience in oncology, with a proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, build and manage teams, and secure funding to support research and clinical programs. A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
