Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leading patient care by collaborating with the Director/Designee to plan, organize, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the care provided to patients. Care delivery is tailored to meet the age-appropriate physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and educational needs of each patient. Responsibilities encompass fiscal, human resource, and operational functions. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator executes delegated duties within the scope of practice and aligns with the philosophy and overall care plan at Swedish Medical Center, demonstrating positive support for the institution's goals, values, and mission.
Position Requirements
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado or active multistate nursing licensure. Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification through AHA or ARC.
B. Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a related health field is required. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
C. Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of clinical RN experience is preferred, along with two years of progressive supervisory or charge nurse experience. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to provide direct patient care and fulfill charge nurse responsibilities. Recognizes the needs and concerns of individuals, maintaining constructive relationships in all interactions. Adheres to departmental safety protocols. Communicates effectively in both oral and written forms. Participates in the guidance and mentoring of staff. Assumes a leadership role within the healthcare team for patient care planning and delivery.
1. Demonstrated proficiency with patient care information systems.
2. Strong planning, analytical, and written communication skills.
3. Ability to utilize and coach others in the nursing process.
4. Proficient in using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software for statistical analysis.
5. Capable of educating, coaching, and mentoring staff using adult learning principles.
