Position: Clinical and Laboratory Nursing InstructorInstitution: University of Bridgeport
  • Under the guidance of the LPN Program Director, the Nursing Department is seeking an individual with an MSN qualification to serve as a clinical and laboratory instructor within the LPN program.
  • This role is a full-time appointment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee students during their clinical and laboratory assignments.
  • Assess students' clinical documentation and coursework.
  • Organize laboratory schedules, oversee supplies, and offer assistance to both students and faculty.
Core Job Functions:
  • Facilitate hands-on clinical experiences.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student assignments.
  • Conduct evaluations for each student during their clinical rotations.
  • Manage the ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Support students and faculty within the laboratory setting.
  • Coordinate simulation activities and aid in their design and execution.
  • Collaborate with faculty to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Uphold safety standards in both clinical and laboratory settings.
Additional Duties:
  • Perform related responsibilities as necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated with industry trends.
  • Assist departmental staff as required and foster teamwork.
  • Evening work may be necessary on occasion.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, partners, and students.Minimum Qualifications:
    • MSN degree, or BSN with a plan to pursue MSN within four years.
    • 3-5 years of nursing experience.
    • Preferred teaching experience with RN students.
    • Active RN license in Connecticut.
