We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Clinical and Laboratory Instructor in our LPN program at the University of Bridgeport. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and supervision to students in the clinical and laboratory settings.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise students during their assignments in the clinical and laboratory settings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Evaluate students' written clinical packets and other assignments, providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
- Coordinate the laboratory schedule, manage laboratory supplies, and provide overall student and faculty support.
- Facilitate clinical experience across the curriculum, ensuring students meet the required learning outcomes.
- Review and provide weekly feedback to students on clinical packets and other assignments as appropriate.
- Complete midterm and final evaluations for each student per clinical rotation, assessing their progress and performance.
- Facilitate the clinical experience in the nursing skills laboratory, ensuring students develop the necessary skills and competencies.
- Order, maintain, and manage inventory of laboratory supplies for the skills nursing lab within the specified budget.
- Support students and faculty as needed in the laboratory environment, promoting a positive and inclusive learning culture.
- Coordinate simulation activities, ensuring students develop the necessary skills and competencies in a realistic and safe environment.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation activities and educational materials for all nursing courses in collaboration with nursing faculty.
- Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course and clinical learning outcomes.
- Maintain standards of care with relation to safety protocols across both the clinical and laboratory environments.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) with completion of an MSN within 4 years.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience, with a strong background in clinical instruction and supervision.
- Teaching experience with RN students is preferred.
- An active license as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
