We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Black Box. As an Infrastructure Technician II, you will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to our team, as well as installing and servicing low-voltage cabling and communications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Provide team leadership and supervision to ensure successful project completion.
- Install and service low-voltage cabling and communications infrastructure, including category cabling, fiber optic cabling, and communication equipment.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure systems and perform repairs as necessary.
- Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) for materials and labor.
- Conduct infrastructure surveys and design projects.
- Execute project milestones and test plans.
- Complete project closeout deliverable packages, including test results, as-built documents, pictures, and quality audits.
- Complete required documentation in various written and electronic formats according to company standards.
- Associate degree or certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of combined experience in a Site Support Technician and/or Infrastructure Technician role (or similar experience).
- CNET CNCI, BICSI Installer (INST1), BICSI Installer 2 copper/fiber (INSTC/INSTF), BICSI Technician (TECH), and manufacturer certifications.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proven ability to install, terminate, and test low-voltage cables, including twisted pair cable, coax, power-limited tray cable, stranded and solid conductor low-voltage cable, and fiber optic cable.
- Installation of cable pathways, conveyances (e.g., ladder, trays, support systems).
- Through-wall penetration systems.
- Advanced knowledge of terminology pertaining to installation and service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.
- Advanced knowledge of industry standards, including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and national electric code.
- Advanced knowledge of publications pertaining to standard cabling for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems practices, engineering, and federal, state, and local safety standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, and other installation documentation.
- Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
