Job Summary

As an Emergency Department Technician with Sentara, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our inpatient or outpatient Emergency Department settings. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, and nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency and minor emergency care patients.
  • Perform patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of a physician, advanced practitioner, or nurse.
  • Participate in de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
  • Obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One of the following: EMT-B certification, successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, or current enrollment in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) with at least one semester completed.
