Job Title: Transport Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. As a key member of our transport team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill patients during transport.

Job Summary:

The Transport Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory care for critically ill patients, including neonates, pediatric, and adult patients. You will work collaboratively with healthcare team members to problem-solve and implement respiratory treatment modalities and interventions to maximize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan respiratory care for critically ill patients during transport
  • Implement and evaluate respiratory treatment modalities and interventions
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to problem-solve and implement respiratory care
  • Establish and maintain artificial airways during transport
  • Assess for and detect changes in respiratory status and take proactive approach
  • Determine appropriate parameters for mechanical ventilation and monitor effectiveness
  • Perform advanced skills and procedures as indicated
  • Assist transport RN in medical interventions as needed
  • Communicate with medical control regarding patient condition and plan of care during transport
  • Respond to emergencies and render aid as needed
Requirements:
  • Technical diploma in Respiratory Therapy
  • Preferred associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • 3 years of critical care experience in pediatric or neonatal intensive care setting or Pediatric Emergency Center experience in a Level 1 trauma center
  • Licenses: RCP, BLS, RRT-NPS, PALS, NRP, ACLS, RRT CERT, C-NPT
