Clinical Services Associate Job Description

Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, conducting innovative research, and educating future healthcare professionals. As a Clinical Services Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical teams and contributing to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care:
    • Room patients, review medical history, and prepare charts for visits
    • Observe patient condition, communicate with providers, and assist with patient care
    • Perform laboratory and screening tests, record results, and reconcile logs
    • Assist with minor surgical procedures, EKGs, and other outpatient screening tests
  • Clerical and Administrative:
    • Respond to patient inquiries, manage phone calls, and route messages
    • Obtain and scan documents, complete medical forms, and prepare patient correspondence
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, collecting copays, and updating patient information
  • Environmental and Safety:
    • Adhere to infection control policies, dispose of infectious waste, and promote a safe environment
    • Clean and disinfect instruments and equipment, and notify supervisors of malfunctions
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • MA certification (within 90 days of hire, if required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 2+ years of medical office experience or 4+ years of customer service experience
