Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our practitioners. This role requires a high level of organization, communication, and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient records and test results, and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
  • Assist our practitioners during medical procedures, including biopsies and select surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures.
  • Stock rooms with necessary supplies and report biopsy, culture, and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by provider.
  • Sanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patient, and send patient visit notes to referring provider/PCP.
  • Answer incoming calls when not in a room with a provider and assist office staff with front-end tasks if needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Certification from a Medical Assistant Program.
  • 1-3 years of relevant medical/surgical practice experience.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking abilities.
  • Customer service attitude and experience with practice management software (e.g., EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
