Family Program Specialist

This position is for a Family Program Specialist, responsible for providing support to military and family members within the Joint Force Headquarters in Marietta, Georgia.
The Family Program Specialist will serve as the staff advisor on family readiness, quality of life, and other Family Program matters, identifying and recommending priorities.
Key responsibilities include managing and implementing the family readiness and family assistance system, providing staff assistance to local units, conducting staff assistance visits, and analyzing and evaluating program operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of organizational development, human resource management, and business administration, with experience utilizing the MARRS-N system as a system of record for managing cases, community networking, community resources, and deployment outreach efforts.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating communication between family members, mobilization elements, higher headquarters, inter-service agencies, other military services, local and national government, and non-government organizations.
The Family Program Specialist will also be responsible for preparing and disseminating information to military members and their families on family readiness, including benefits, entitlements, pre-deployment, deployment, and reunion issues, unit missions, and functions of the National Guard.
Marketing strategies will be developed to maintain program visibility and increase awareness at all levels, with a focus on utilizing local community, state, regional, and national resources and networks to provide a safety net for families.
The Family Program Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert and advisor to the Family Assistance Center operation during periods of activation and deployment, and may develop and coordinate an ongoing Guard family youth program that identifies and addresses issues and concerns of youth related to Guard life.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, with the ability to work effectively with commanders, Guard leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory guidelines and to maximize program effectiveness.
