Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Hand Specialist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our occupational therapy department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality hand therapy services to patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients for whom occupational hand therapy is medically necessary
  • Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency, and duration of occupational therapy/hand therapy in collaboration with the referring physician
  • Communicate pertinent patient information to referring physicians, staff, employers, insurance carriers, and rehabilitation specialists
  • Provide injured workers with guidelines for job modification and energy conservation in accordance with physician
Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) accredited school of Occupational Therapy
  • Specialty certification from Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) required in hand therapy
  • National registration and state licensure or registration where applicable
  • Minimum of two years experience in application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic is preferred
