The Resort at Paws Up is a luxury Montana mountain resort situated on a sprawling, 37,000-acre, authentic working cattle ranch in western Montana. We are seeking a qualified Accounting Specialist to join our corporate office located in Las Vegas, NV.

Position Overview

The Accounting Specialist will provide support to the Director of Accounting, preparing financial reports and various accounting statements, posting journal entries to the general ledger, and generating summary sheets for supervisors or auditors. The successful candidate will also process payroll, benefits, and prepare necessary payroll reports, as well as allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial reports and various accounting statements
  • Post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Generate summary sheets for supervisors or auditors
  • Process payroll, benefits, and prepare necessary payroll reports
  • Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures
  • Cross-train with other accounting functions, including accounts payable and payroll
Requirements
  • Excellent professional communication skills and good organization skills
  • Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • 5 years of related experience in the service industry with over 300 employees
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in accounting software, with a focus on Jonas Premier
  • Proficient in payroll systems, with a focus on ADP
  • Knowledge of purchasing and property management software, with a focus on Northwind Maestro and App Folio
