Position Overview

We are seeking an Optical Transmission System Test Engineer who will be instrumental in defining, planning, and executing test protocols for the development and delivery of undersea optical transmission systems. The successful candidate will take charge of creating and implementing qualification test plans to validate hardware, software, and firmware features in accordance with product specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in optical transmission testing, including OTN OTU-, SDH STM-, PDH E-E, and Ethernet base-Gbps, as well as optical gain and loss, OSNR, BER, PMD, PDL, and dispersion measurements.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineers to develop and execute comprehensive test plans efficiently.
  • Conduct tests to ensure compliance with industry data and telecommunications standards.
  • Execute DWDM transmission tests and meticulously document results.
  • Configure and maintain laboratory testing systems.
  • Organize and perform customer demonstrations.
  • Exhibit strong laboratory, analytical, and communication skills, and be capable of functioning as both a team leader and a collaborative team member.
  • Proficiency in Linux is essential.
  • Familiarity with test automation software is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, or Physics, along with relevant experience in fiber optics or coherent optical communication.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of programming languages is preferred.
