Job DescriptionAs a Tax Collector at Octagon Consulting LLC, you will be responsible for locating and monitoring overdue accounts for property taxes. Your primary duties will include:
  • Locating and notifying customers of delinquent accounts by mail or telephone.
  • Conferencing with customers by telephone about their accounts and advising them of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment.
  • Persuading customers to pay amounts due or make arrangements for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules that the firm requires.
  • Responsible for keeping up with email, incoming correspondence, and responding in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for keeping up with voicemails and following up in a timely manner.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills (via phone or in person).
  • Critical thinking and self-motivation.
  • Confident and good time management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and be a quick learner.
  • Flexibility and positive attitude.
  • Punctuality and ability to provide customer service (via phone or in person).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to work with multiple computer programs at once.
  • Determination and persistence.
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative when needed.
  • Negotiation skills (via phone or in person).
  • Effective communicator and competent keyboard skills.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and work with numbers.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a requirement.
