We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team at Callan Marine Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating cranes and other assigned equipment in a safe and productive manner, with a focus on maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Cranes and Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate cranes and other assigned equipment to perform tasks such as lifting, moving, and placing heavy loads.
- Conduct Safety Meetings and JSAs: Conduct regular safety meetings and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
- Perform Maintenance Duties: Perform routine maintenance tasks on cranes and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Run a Boat: Operate a boat to transport personnel and equipment as needed.
- Operate Other Equipment: Operate other equipment such as forklifts, generators, and pumps as required.
- Perform Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of time, equipment usage, and other relevant data.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a crane operator in the marine construction and dredging industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certifications: NCCCO certification required.
- Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, and ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 30lbs individually, push and pull at peak force of 150lbs, and work in confined spaces and elevated heights.
- Mental Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing situations, and maintain a high level of focus and concentration.
