Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

At Management & Training Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing quality services to our local youth.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to develop, implement, and maintain an effective trainee employee assistance program (TEAP). The successful candidate will work closely with our staff and community partners to spread awareness, aid in prevention, and provide training on substance use/abuse issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing procedures to coordinate and integrate TEAP components with other center programs, policies, and zero-tolerance initiatives.
  • Work with new students to provide testing, assessments, and development of assistance plans during the 45-day probation period.
  • Provide assessment and assistance/intervention plans for students who test positive for drugs or alcohol.
  • Collaborate with the counseling, health/wellness, and human resources departments to refer students and staff with TEAP-related issues.
  • Provide ongoing comprehensive training for staff on substance abuse prevention, individual counseling skills, and team building.
  • Conduct TEAP classes, group education, and prevention sessions for students and staff.
Requirements:
  • Unrestricted, active substance abuse certification or license per state requirement.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
