This role is a full-time exempt position, dedicated to supporting various mission training operations. The Systems Technician (Lead Systems Administrator) is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of all Mission Command computer systems while providing guidance to fellow system administrators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize information system analysis techniques to establish hardware, software, or system specifications necessary for mission training exercises.


• Operate independently in systems engineering and on-site integration within a military training environment.


• Duties encompass installing software, conducting end-to-end operational testing, configuring system interfaces, and offering expertise to enhance Army Mission Command Systems.


• Employ design and analytical skills to ensure the effective integration of Army Mission Command systems.


• Aid in converting mission requirements into actionable solutions through simulation models and planning.


• Install, manage, and troubleshoot both Windows and RHEL workstations and server systems across various facilities.


• Integrate Windows and Linux systems effectively.


• Collaborate with Information Assurance managers to uphold Risk Management Framework compliance.


• Provide support for Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming, and Low Overhead exercises.


• Contribute to the development of training materials and assist in After Action Review (AAR) activities.


• Support the setup and recovery operations of equipment and facilities for training events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a US Secret security clearance.
  • Required to hold an Information Assurance Technical II (IAT II) baseline certification in accordance with DoD standards (e.g., CCNA-Security, Security+, SSCP, CySA+, or GSEC).
  • Must achieve computing environment certification (e.g., Server 2012, WIN10/WIN11, VMware) within six months of employment.
  • A minimum of five years of documented experience in IT or simulation-related fields is necessary.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • An associate degree in computer science or systems engineering from an accredited institution is preferred but can be waived with relevant experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with Simulation or Army Mission Command Systems is advantageous.


• Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills are essential.


• The position requires close interaction with clients and the ability to work independently and innovatively.


• Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is necessary. Provide systems administration support to ensure compliance with DoD standards and regulations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Position: Office setting with occasional outdoor tasks.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, subject to mission requirements.

Work Hours: Variable based on mission needs.

Overtime: As needed.

Travel: As required.
