We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in daily activities, achieving personal goals, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist individuals with daily activities, including health and personal management, recreation, and daily household living
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program individuals
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and completing daily activities
- Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of related experience or an Associate's Degree with 1 year of related experience
- Valid NY Driver's License
- Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor
- Ability to lift at least 70 pounds
- Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs
- Paid orientation
- Over 5 weeks of paid time off in the first year
