Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Coarc. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing emotional, physical, and personal support to individuals in their daily lives. This will include assisting with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and encouraging participation in community activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals and their support networks
  • Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Encourage and support individuals to participate in community activities, such as volunteering, education, and recreation
  • Provide medication administration support, as needed
  • Participate in service planning meetings and advocate for individuals' needs and wants
  • Document services delivered and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • Valid NYS Driver's license or ability to convert out-of-state license within 90 days
  • Ability to be certified in required trainings
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Exceptional written, communication, and basic computer skills
  • One-year experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
