Job Summary

Medicine Journal is seeking a highly skilled Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst III to join our team. As a key member of our Patient Access and Revenue Cycle department, you will be responsible for collaborating with system management to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve system needs.

This individual will utilize use cases, workflows, and metrics to configure, maintain, and monitor systems, as well as provide suggestions for potential application modifications, enhancements, or process changes as appropriate.

The successful candidate will serve revenue cycle functions, including Registration, Revenue Integrity, Billing, Scheduling, Coding, and Charge Master. Excellent customer service skills, highly effective written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Develop functional specifications and operational process flows, department procedures, business requirements, or other necessary documentation for approved system enhancements or modifications
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of IS internal department processes as well as software application support
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, applications, and interfaces
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all skills required to facilitate complex applications and system enhancements or replacements
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in creating detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, process, and data flows
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of revenue cycle operations
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in data gathering, specifications development, and documentation and recording
  • Produce and provide analysis through reports, dashboards, and analytic tools to management
  • Develop metrics and KPIs designed to monitor the performance of management and staff in achieving SLAs adhering to process and the timely recording of pertinent data
  • Follow up on errors to determine root cause and recommend solution
  • Develop reports and plans database additions taking reporting needs into consideration
  • Support multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules, educate and coach other team members, and manage user expectations
  • Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution
  • Exercise good judgment
  • Effectively manage work time while handling more than one assignment at a time
  • Prioritize work assignments to ensure the appropriate work is being completed

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of experience in a healthcare-related setting with knowledge of Patient Access/Revenue Cycle/Business systems
  • Understanding of information system technology and database applications
  • Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education
  • EPIC certification in the module(s) being represented (preferred)
  • Experience in EMR installations (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience with MS SQL, report automation knowledge, and report writing (preferred)
