The University of Miami is seeking a skilled Licensed Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing building maintenance and repair work, responding to the corrective needs of electrical equipment and system components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test emergency generators, conditioning and heating systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain and repair circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration units, fans, and other electrical equipment.
  • Install lighting fixtures and other electrical apparatus, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Test circuits for continuity and overloading, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Conduct fire alarm tests and participate in the movement and installation of machinery and equipment.
  • Evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and order supplies and equipment as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
