POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Operations Supervisor, under the guidance of the Superintendent of Recreation, is tasked with overseeing the safety, security, and supervision of the facility during operational hours. This role involves welcoming visitors, addressing inquiries, and managing part-time staff. Additional responsibilities include assisting fellow park district employees with various situations and performing light cleaning and setup duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee all facility personnel.
  2. Deliver outstanding customer service to all visitors, ensuring a warm welcome and assistance as they enter the facility.
  3. Enforce all facility regulations.
  4. Possess a comprehensive understanding of operational requirements.
  5. Complete daily and nightly checklists for submission to the supervisor.
  6. Ensure adherence to cash control policies and assist with cash handling procedures.
  7. Support Front Desk associates during peak times or when customer issues arise.
  8. Have a basic understanding of RecTrac and POS systems to assist with front desk challenges.
  9. Be familiar with all staff roles and provide coverage as needed.
  10. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as necessary, completing required documentation.
  11. Be aware of scheduled activities and assist with room setups and breakdowns as required.
  12. Regularly inspect all areas of the facility, including restrooms, during shifts, except when at the front desk.
  13. Maintain cleanliness by emptying trash, restocking supplies, and sanitizing surfaces and equipment as needed.
  14. Monitor bulletin boards and information displays to ensure current materials are available.
  15. Address any misuse of the facility or its equipment.
  16. Secure the building at the end of the operational day.
  17. Report maintenance issues, disciplinary matters, complaints, suggestions, and any unusual occurrences.
  18. Conduct tours and respond to inquiries regarding memberships, rentals, and facility functions.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  1. Comply with all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.
  2. Assist program instructors, facility users, and other staff with their needs.
  3. During winter months, clear snow from walkways and apply ice melt as necessary.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification, available through the Park District.
