Environmental Specialist

Hepaco, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking an Environmental Professional to join our team. As a key member of our Field Services team, you will be responsible for executing environmental management and waste management programs, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal, environmental compliance, and field work.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage client waste disposal, including non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
- Perform physical labor associated with cleanup activities, sample collection, and waste removal.
- Complete required paperwork, forms, and records as required.
- Manage and track waste generation, storage, and disposal, including pick-up, coordination, and proper identification, classification, labeling, and manifesting.
- Ensure compliance with shipments of non-hazardous and hazardous waste and interact with Branch Manager, Project Managers, and Field Staff.
- Prepare specimen samples for testing, including packaging, labeling, and recordkeeping.
- Assist with responding to hazardous material releases and containment and clean-up of spilled materials.
- Prepare and review periodic environmental reports and compliance monitoring data.
- BS in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong math and analytical skills, and knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft 365 productivity suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- HAZWOPER 40 hour and confined space entry preferred.
