About the Role

Curtiss-Wright is seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and environmental compliance of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Offer expert advice to safety leadership teams, safety observers, and supervisory personnel to ensure effective administration of our safety and environmental program.
  • Conduct Safety Inspections: Perform regular safety inspections and surveys to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Investigate Incidents: Investigate serious injuries/illnesses and near miss incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Advise on Regulations: Act as an advisory resource to local management and supervisors on matters of injury and illness prevention, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop Procedures: Develop and maintain procedures for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the Safety Committee: Lead the Safety Committee and coordinate activities with the first aid and emergency response team.
  • Monitor Compliance: Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety codes and standards.
  • Interact with Regulatory Groups: Interact with regulatory groups, such as OSHA, EPA, and PA DEP.
Requirements
  • Degree in a Relevant Field: Hold a degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, safety engineering, etc.
  • Strong Attention to Detail: Possess strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills: Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • US Citizenship: Be a US citizen.
  • Manufacturing Environment Experience: Have experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Environmental Compliance Knowledge: Possess knowledge of environmental compliance.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification: Hold a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • OSHA 30 Hours Certification: Possess OSHA 30 hours certification.
